1. One idea that we still use today is that people should form a government to protect their natural rights. Today, we use the government and the Declaration of Independence to protect our natural rights. The Declaration of Independence says that peoples natural born rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
2. Another idea came from the book A Vindication of Womens Rights. It says that boys and girls should have equal education. Today in America, we use the same idea by teaching boys and girls the same curriculum in the same classrooms.
3. Another example of an idea we still use today is that people should be allowed to own and run their own businesses with little to no government intervention. Today, we have businesses that are run and the government has barely anything to do with it, or free market. All they have to make sure is that a product is safe.
4. In The Two Treatises of Government, the same idea of checks and balances is used today in America. We have the Legislative, Judicial, and Executive branches. The Judicial branch interprets the law, the Legislative branch makes the law, and the Executive branch enforces the law. They use a system of checks and balances that makes sure that each branch can check the other branches and each has equal power.

Time Traveler
Dear time traveler,
When traveling back in time, there are some things that you should know so that you fit in Middle Ages. In the Middle Ages, the knights have adopted a new code of conduct called chivalry. Chivalry requires knights to be brave, loyal, and true to their word. In the churches, the people practice Christianity. Peasants have also established new farming technologies. You now have iron plows and harnesses.
Hope this helps with your traveling.

Cleopatra VII
Cleopatra's goals for Egypt were to win back lands that Egypt had once held in Syria and Palestine. Cleopatra seeked help from Julius Caesar because he was a Roman conqueror and Rome was the strongest power in the Mediterranean. After their war with Rome, Antony commited suicide because he thought Cleopatra was dead and Cleopatra killed herself when she heard Antony was dead. Getting help from Rome and declaring herself and her family rulers of both Egypt and Rome showed that she was serious about being a good ruler in Egypt.

New Ancient Greek Theater Uncovered
THEATER - The Greek festivals were used to honor their gods. A festival called "City Dionysi
a" was used to honor a god named Dionysus. Plays were only presented at this festival and men performed songs to welcome Dionysus. Before it was spread around, Athens was where these traditions were held. There were three different types of theatrical forms: Tragedy, Comedy, and Satyr. Tragedy and comedy were the two main ones, and were viewed as completely seperate genres.

Tragedies; Tragedy is said to mean "goat song". This type of theater is said to have evolved from dithyrambs, or songs sung in praise of Dionysus. Credit is given to the poet, Arion, with developing dithyramb into a formalized narrative. Thespis is considered one of the first Greek actors of tragedy.
Comedies; Comedies came from imitation. Although it was an important part of Greek theatre, there are no traces of its origin.
Satyr; These types of plays dealt with the mythological subject in comic manner.
